Sinus Lift

What is a Sinus Lift?

A sinus lift is a surgical procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of the molars and premolars, often necessary when there isn’t enough bone height for implants.

Sinus Lift Procedure in Maxillary Implant Treatment

A sinus lift, also known as sinus augmentation, is a specialized surgical procedure performed to increase bone volume in the upper jaw (maxilla) for successful dental implant placement. This procedure is necessary when the natural bone is insufficient due to bone loss, sinus expansion, or anatomical limitations.

Why is a Sinus Lift Needed?

  • Insufficient bone height in the upper jaw
  • Enlarged sinus cavities preventing implant placement
  • Bone loss due to missing teeth, gum disease, or trauma

How is the Procedure Performed?

  1. Accessing the Sinus – A small window is created in the upper jawbone near the sinus.
  2. Lifting the Sinus Membrane – The sinus membrane is gently lifted upward.
  3. Bone Grafting – Bone graft material is placed beneath the sinus membrane to create additional support for the implant.
  4. Healing & Implant Placement – The grafted bone integrates with the natural bone over a few months before the implant is placed.

What are the Treatment Process?

  1. Evaluation & Planning: We assess your sinuses and jawbone to create a tailored treatment plan.
  2. Sinus Lift Procedure: The sinus membrane is gently lifted, and bone graft material is placed underneath.
  3. Healing & Implant Placement: After the bone has integrated, dental implants can be placed.
